I held an angel in my arms

For sixteen very short years,

I hold her now within my heart

As my eyes overflow with tears.

Not many people are ever blessed

To know an angel's love,

Or hold an angel in their arms

A precious gift from above.

I'd give all my worldly treasures

Everything that I own and more,

To once again hold my angel

The grandchild that I adore.

But I know that can never happen

As wonderful as it seems,

Until I can hold her in Heaven one day...

I'll hold her in my dreams.
